The Prem Bhatia Memorial Trust seeks to promote excellence in journalism in India by raising public consciousness and giving an annual award for achievement in the field. In addition to the Prem Bhatia Award for journalism (Rs. 1 Lakh) there are 2 scholarships each valued at Rs. 75,000.00. There will also be a one time annual award of Rs.30,000.00 for the best young journalist under the age of 25 years who has shown the most promise in reporting on Environmental or Social Affairs.
