How does one apply for the scholarship? There are no application forms, but applicants should send a covering letter which includes their bio-data, a synopsis of the proposed subject of research and three clippings of published work. What is the selection criterion? The scholarships are decided by a distinguished jury comprising eminent journalists and media experts and headed by Mr. Ajit Bhattacharjea, Director, Press Insititue of India.Each scholarship is worth Rs. 75,000 and are sponsored by the Sir Dorabji tata Trust. They are divided in four instalments, one instalment is given on selection and the other after approval of the work-in-progress. How can I contribute towards the growth of The Prem Bhatia Memorial Trust? The trust needs to expand in scope each year as it will increase its activities for the benefit of journalists in various spheres of the media. You can help by sponsoring scholarships or contributing towards the Prem Bhatia Memorial Trust corpus. The trust is registered under section 12(A)(a) of the Income tax Act, 1961 and tax exemption is granted under section 80G (5) (vi) of the same act. |
